“It’s the Good News, but you better follow all the rules and never mess-up.”
“It’s the Good News, if you’re a Republican, Anglo-Saxon Southern Baptist.”
Isn’t this how so many of us view the “Good News”?
Those views are not correct.
It’s the Good News. Period.
The very words of Jesus (from Luke 4:18-19) are this:
God’s Spirit is on me; he’s chosen me to preach the Message of good news to the poor, sent me to announce pardon to prisoners and recovery of sight to the blind, to set the burdened and battered free…
According to Jesus, Grace isn’t dependent on:
-
economic status
-
prison sentence
-
health
-
social status
-
or whether or not you have it all together
It’s the Good News. Period.

Thanks so much for posting this!!!!!! There’s too little grace being preached in Christianity today, and people make being a Christian sound so hard. I nearly gave up.
I am glad you didn’t give up! Thanks for commenting!
