God’s Whimsy

The video is one minute six seconds.  How many different sounds can you hear?  Different bird calls.  Different low tones of the wind chimes.  An insect’s humming wings zipping by.

What about colors?  The greens and blues?

Did you notice the textures and shapes? The colored speckles on the eggs and the repetition of the fern leaves?

Just what makes that tiny bird know how to build a perfectly round nest?  I couldn’t draw a perfect circle if my life depended on it!

After reading Love Does by Bob Goff, I have thought a lot about whimsy.  I want to pay closer attention to God’s whimsy.

Can you imagine how much fun He had creating each bird?   He created them so lovingly that they each have their own voice.

If He paid so much attention…. If He gave so much care… Invested so much creativity….Planned so much individuality…When He creating a bird…. Just imagine His pleasure in creating YOU!

I thank you, High God—you’re breathtaking!
Body and soul, I am marvelously made!
I worship in adoration—what a creation! Psalm 139:14 MSG

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well. Psalm 139:14 NIV 1984

You, my friend, are a fearfully and wonderfully made creation of God. YOU are marvelously made by the One who created the universe!
