That first Christmas
The very First Noel
What it must have been like
To hear the Angels tell.
“He’s born! He’s here!
A Savior to the World!”
A Savior? Messiah?
Born of a teenage girl?
Night after night,
Day after day,
Following a star,
They said would lead to The Way.
They must have thought it crazy,
How totally bizarre,
To travel toward a manger,
And who’s to say how far?
Oh, how that little baby,
His Father’s pride and joy,
Has changed the world forever,
For every girl and boy.
A gift to all generations,
Of mercy and of grace,
A gift of second chances,
To the entire human race.
Merry Christmas,
Steve
