Anchor my soul.

Bonus entry for Poetry Week. A new poem.

12/3/2011, 5:22pm

Torn and tattered sails,
Torn and tattered soul.

Worn and battered vessel,
Worn and battered, Lord.

Tossed and shaken,
Heavy rains and
The anchor of my soul still holds.

Doubt sloshes to and fro,
Fear pours over my soul.

Questions flood my spirit,
Questions flood my mind, Lord.

Tossed and shaken,
Heavy rains and
The anchor of my soul still holds.

Tossed and shaken,
Not overtaken.
The anchor of my soul still holds.

The anchor of my soul is Hope.

  1. Fantastic writing Steve. This has been a theme for me this morning so I had to smile at God’s timing whn I read this. You are doing a wonderful job here and as a husband and daddy.
