Second Chance Wednesday: Grace for the Porn Addict

“You know the guidelines we laid out for you from the Master Jesus. God wants you to live a pure life. Keep yourselves from sexual promiscuity.” 1st Thessalonians 4:3
I’m 15-years-old, and this is my testimony…
I accepted Christ at the age of fourteen, during summer camp. Before accepting Christ I had fallen into a very real and common temptation.
Pornography.
I fell into this addiction at the young age of 11.
Some people might laugh when someone says they are addicted to pornography but really it is no laughing matter. When you’re an addict you cant get enough. I looked at it for years, wondering why everyone thought it was so wrong. At the camp where I received Christ, a guy spoke about pornography. What he said there opened my eyes and it was like a switch turned on. I no longer felt like I needed to look at pornographic images.
Since that year of camp I have felt a calling to speak to teens about the importance of purity and how though there will be relationships where you feel like you are “in love”, you should never go that far. One night of sex isn’t worth your purity or possibly getting the girl pregnant.
Thanks for reading my testimony and I hope this reached someone who might be going through the same thing and also might think there is no hope for you.
